It has happened again!

my last post was of flood photos... well it has happened again but 10 times worse!

This photo was taken 3 blocks back from the creek, and it is the main road through town... no-one knew what was happening on the other side :(

looking up Orpen street, our first house is 3 blocks up from here.. I wonder how it went?

Who would ever think that we would have a sunset over the water in Dalby??? We have been drought stricken for the last 10 years... we wont run out of water now will we???
unbelievable!

my parents house.... we now call it their house boat....

sitting in the car in the car park of Dalby Shopping World
who knows what they were thinking building it so close to the creek... especially with an underground car park... A man must have designed it lol

flood sale on brand new Toyota's???

I have taken many many more photos.. but thought I would just share a few with you
We are hoping to leave on holidays today, we tried yesterday but couldnt get out of town... fingers crossed we can today
Thanks for dropping in

FLOODS

wow, we have had so much rain here in the last week that poor ole Dalby town is not isolated.. all roads leading out are now closed :(
I thought I would share some photos that I took today when we went into town to see what was happening with the Creek

This one is of our road just up from our house

the same road but some people cant read the 'road closed signs'

  near the Edward Street Weir
 the Edward Street Weir
my in-laws front gate

You can just see the top of the light post on the bike way along the creek
 At my friend Merideth's house

Hopefully it will peak soon and our town can get back to normal... there were lots of people sight seeing  like me lol.. but traffic is chaos with only one bridge from one side of town to the other open!
I think I might just stay home for a few days now and wait it out :)

Thanks for looking xxxx

My Minds Eye 'I Believe'

I received a lovely parcel fromt the courier yesterday afternoon from Scrapbook Savvy, it would be the smallest parcel that I have had for a while hee hee. I had ordered the New My Minds Eye 'I Believe', I told myself that I wasnt going to order any Christmas ranges this year as I havent touched any of the ones that I have bought over the years.... BUT... when I saw this range I knew exactly what photo that I wanted to scrap with it.. It is a photo of my dad when he was 7 with Santa...I am going to add this Layout to the album that I have been doing for a while now for mum and dad using all their old photos..... I will have to have a look and see how many layouts that I have in there already???? That might be a good Christmas present for them???? (and if it isnt enough, I can do some more for it, a great excuse to scrap lol)

Sara's Savvy Colour challenge for December

I knew straight away what photo I was going to scrap when I seen the colour theme that Sara chose for this months Colour Challenge at Scrapbook Savvy this month

It is a photo of little Bronte at Sandra's Halloween Party, colours were perfect!

I found this quote at The Quote Garden

I use this site often if I am stuck for a title of quote for a layout

ok, time for me to turn the computer off and go to bed.. I will be back in the morning to share a Layout that I did tonight

Thanks for visiting

Anthea's December Sketch Challenge At Scrapbook Savvy

Good morning girls!
An early start for me :0 I went to bed last night with a layout not quite finished and I kept waking up and thinking about it so I got up early to finish it.
It is for Anthea's sketch over at Scrapbook Savvy... my favourite scrappy place to hang out!. I have used a bit more paper on here than I normally do, but I have soooo much of it I might as well used some of it hey? lol

And in my usual style, I changed the number of photos from the sketch lol
I did have a bit of a mishap with the glimmermist and the photos while I was chatting to Sar on MSN, but I just reprinted them hee hee

Thanks for stopping by mwah!

Second stuck?! Sketch for December

The second stuck?! sketch was released on their blog this morning will lovely examples from the design team.... I couldnt wait to get into this one! I had the perfect photo of my godson Tyler that Kirsten took on his 1st birthday in the cubby house. And I used some of last months Kit of the Month from Scrapbooking from Scratch that I picked up on Peta's retreat.

Stuck?! is also having a Creative Team Call for the next six months... I am seriouly thinking about having a go... what do you think?

First Stuck?! sketch for December

One of my favourite sketch sites is run by my beautiful friend Sara over at Stuck?!
This is this months sketch, and my version of it :)

This Photo of Alicia and I makes me laugh sooo hard.. it is of us singing "achy breaky heart" at Sar's 30th birthday party.... the Karaoke machine was a hit! (especially after a few bubbles lol)

Scrapbook Savvy Random Kit Challenge

Every month over at Scrapbook Savvy Sar sets a random kit challenge where one lucky scrapper gets to be the guest designer for the next month with a massive discount in the shop and also they receive the We're Savvy kit for free!!!!

So this month I thought I would throw my hat in the ring and have a go! I used the He's Savvy kit for this Layout

I always find the kit so versatile, I hardly used it for just boy Layouts
The criteria for this challenge was to have a flag banner, staples, brads and an outlined title

I am not really a fan of the flag banner, so for something different I thought that I would use the chipboard clouds for my banner... I had fun playing with my texture paints and 'slate' Tattered Angels glimmermist.. that I got from Savvy of course lol

I love how they turned out !

Wow! what a week! I never want to have to go through anything like that again .

We are both home now, and Craig will be off work until Christmas and then we have three weeks holidays as we close the business at that time every year. We are still not sure what we are going to be doing.. Craig seems to think that he will be ok to go away in the van like we planned but I am just taking one day at a time

On another note, before all of this happened I had decided to try out for some DT's and one of them was Kraft It up. The applications were due in yesterday, I had one LO done and I just had to do another...
I had received my monthly kits from Scrapbook Savvy and I hadnt had a chance to open them... and the first one that I did open was the We're Savvy.. OMG I love this range of papers!  Now I am going to tease you as these are all sold out this month, AGAIN!

but Sar does have some of the Circa 1938 HERE in the store!
This range goes really great with the Kraft... dont you think?

and here is the other LO that I did with some 'random' bits and peices lol

ok.. I am off now to break open my other kits! do you want to see them.???.. I think there are some left in the store
Thanks for looking!
