good reads

Are you a reader?

I have always been a lover of books, even as a teenager I would spend hours and hours holed up in my room reading everything that I could get my hands on. It might have something to do with living in the middle of nowhere LOL.

Ever since I bought my ipad reading seems to be that much easier as my ipad goes where ever I go.  The one downfall is (if you could call it that LOL) is that when you read a review on a great book you can buy it with a click of a button.  I have sooooo many books in my collection ready to read.

I am also a member of a website called Good Reads. It is a site that you can read reviews and also see what your friends are reading. At the moment I am reading 'Me before You' by Jojo Moyes on the recommendation from my friend Lauren....apparently I am going to need to get the tissues handy :-/

At the moment Lauren is having a give away on her blog!

how awesome is that prize! you can find out all of the details here on her blog.

I also have a quick scrappy share... a just because page. I still have heaps of photos from our holiday to scrap... I did take 2000 odd photos and was given discs from the other families in our tour group. That should keep me going for a while LOL

dear creative me

Thank you for your lovely comments on my blog post yesterday.

I think we are all guilty of wondering whether other people 'like' our creations. I know I am. I am always comparing my work to others and feel like I fall 'short'.

I am always the first one to say 'you are doing it for you, no one else' when someone says that they don't think that their creativity is up to scratch... I'm not very good at taking my own advice am I?

This has been on my mind for a while and I suppose that is why I thought I would try something a little different on the layouts I showed you all yesterday. And then today I received my daily email from The Brave Girls Club. It was as though it was written just for me!

See what I mean? These emails are always so inspirational and they always seem to come just at the right time. You can join their mailing list here.

And what is a blog post without a little creative share???

This is a layout of my nephews baby girl just after she was born.

I love this 'MME Follow your Heart' range, so pretty and girly :-)

stale?

I have felt for ages that my layouts are starting to look the same.  So after lots of blog and pinterest lurking I thought I would try something a bit different.

What do you think?? I love them! But I can't believe how long each one took to create LOL!

scrap the boys

This is the first time that I have played along with Scrap the Boys. As I have two girls I never think to do this challenge until someone said to me recently that I have nephews and a husband that I could use for their challenges. DERRRR!
So this months challenge is : THE COLOUR RED MUST ALSO BE ON YOUR LAYOUT SOMEWHERE AND HANDWRITTEN JOURNALING.
I have used October Afternoon's 'Sarsparilla' range... definately suited to boys!

Isn't my nephews little boy a cutie?

this and that and some wow

I couldn't resist the Echo Park's 'This and That - Charming' Range.

I thought it would be fantastic for our holiday photos. I had a chance to play with it last week.
I have also used a WOW Filigree Heart. Wow is holding a promotion at the moment, if you buy a piece of their chipboard, you receive a free filigree heart. If you email your layout using the heart to Suzanne you go into a draw to win some free chipboard! YUMMO!

jillibean soup love

This week I received a PM through facebook telling me to look here for a surprise. Well I definately was surprised!  They featured this layout in their soup spotting... I was so excited!

You too could be featured on their blog.. all you have to do is upload a photo of a layout using one of their ranges onto their facebook page and then they pick their favourites to showcase! Easy hey?

stuck?!

It's been a long time since I played along with Stuck?! But this week I have been able to sit for longer periods of time at my scrapdesk so I thought that this would be a great way to get the mojo flowing again.

I love the 1st of March sketch and here is my interpretation

While the mojo was back I also did the 15th March one too :)

As you can see I flipped it on it's side to suit this photo of Craig from when we were on Holidays.... love this man!

Are you going to give this months Stuck?! sketches a go?

scrap the girls

Whoops!!! I have only just realised that I haven't shared this months Scrap the Girls challenge with you all :-/
This months challenge is:

CELEBRATIONS
PICTURES OF CELEBRATIONS, CELEBRATING, THINGS/EVENTS YOU CELEBRATE ETC.

A friend of mine owns a boutique cupcake shop in town and she decided to make gingerbread houses for Christmas... My FIL is a big ginger fan so I couldn't resist getting one for our White Family Christmas Dinner! All of the kids (and the big ones too) love smashing it! And it tasted devine too.

I have some more challenge layouts that I have done over the last couple of days to share with you soon

i am imperfect............

I saw this on fat mum slim's blog this morning while I was procrastinating over getting off my butt and doing some house work and I thought it was a great idea. We all have expectations on how our lives are supposed to be and I know I am GUILTY of trying to be someone that I am not.  I am slowing learning to accept that I am not perfect and never will be. What is perfect anyway?  I am who I am and I think we all need to accept and embrace who we are. I am sure that we would be much happier that way, right?

I am imperfect

I procrastinate over everything!
I am in the overweight range by the BMI scale
I loooove wine (even know that it isn't good for my mental health to drink too much)
I yell at my girls a lot and then wonder why they yell back at me
I HATE housework and avoid it at all costs
I am untidy
I am lazy
My car is a pigsty ( I try to blame the kids, but most of it is mine)
I spend too much time online (but all my friends are in there!)
I hide away at home instead out going out with friends when they invite me places.
I take my husband for granted
Did I tell you that I procrastinate??
I take our financial status for granted
I am a compulsive buyer
I am not a good daughter, I hardly ever visit my parents or in-laws even though they live less than 5 minutes away
I take everything to heart
I read too much into things
I over analyze EVERYTHING!
I sleep far too much (another way I hide away)
I have been known to swear far to much
I have no patience
I am a dreamer
I expect to much from others but I am guilty of it myself

oh dear, this list could probably go on for pages and pages!

There are some things on the list that I could definitely work on (procrastinating is one of them!)  But I am starting to embrace myself. I am who I am, I need to stop beating myself up and start living and enjoying life.

I challenge you to share your LIST and leave a link in the comments below so I can pop by, and I will do a random draw for a RAK from me.

are you going to join me?
