slack blogger

I have been a bit slack haven't I? Maybe it is because I haven't been scrapping as I have completely stripped my scrap room ready to pick up some new furniture on Wednesday from Ikea.  I have taken the opportunity to go through my stash and I have a couple of boxes of things that I am planning on selling. I am a bit excited about putting it all back in there and getting some creating happening. I will share some photos with you when it is all done :-)

I do have a layout to share with you that I did when I was at the Wicked Princesses retreat last month.

Another one for the holiday album.

Thanks for popping by

my first challenge inc challenge

good morning! Did everyone have a creative weekend? Sadly we were busy all weekend and  I didn't manage to even walk into my scraproom :( But I am changing that today!

My challenge this month at Challenge Inc (formally known as Challenge Heaven) is to scrap one of your favourite photos and journal about it. I have used a photo of my beautiful friend Tam. I love this girl to bits. The added criteria is that I want you to use a piece of chipboard on your layout and use a stamp somewhere.

You have until the end of the month to upload to your blog or a public gallery and use the linky tool on the right with my name on it for a chance to win a $10 Voucher from The Stamp Spot

Looking forward to seeing your layouts

tonight is lady gaga night!

yahoo! Tonight the girls and I are off to see Lady Gaga at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. To say that they are a little bit excited would be an understatement LOL. A nice reward for their hard work with exams.. I am proud of them both, they have worked really hard for their awesome results that we have got so far.

I saw her in concert a few years ago when she was the support act for The Pussy Cat Dolls. Lets just say she was bloody fantastic and The Pussy Cat Dolls were crap after seeing her LOL

And what is a blog post without a scrappy share??? I did this layout last month for Stuck?! but I didn't get it uploaded in time.

I love this girl to bits, even though she drives me insane on a daily basis... teenagers and hormones are not a good mix.  Especially with two of them in the house!

Thanks for dropping by and leaving your comments.

some scrappy shares

It is very rare that my scrap desk looks this clean, so I thought I should take a photo and document it LOL

This layout is another one for our holiday album.. We really enjoyed our Cyclo ride around Hanoi in Vietnam.. it was really the only way to see the city centre. The amount of traffic truly blew our mind... imagine 6 million people live in this city and there are 3 million mopedS! And happy drivers, no aggression in sight! AMAZING!

I will have some more shares for you soon

Thanks for dropping by

some more wicked retreat shares

Some more of my new addiction to share with you today... I have so enjoyed throwing paint at paper and seeing the end result! And I love the fact that you just cover it with Gesso if you don't like what you are doing. No mistakes!

At the Wicked Princesses retreat I bought some Tumble Dyes to try... boy oh boy, I loves them! I have used the Tumble dies on the middle one.  I just spray the water colour paper with a spray bottle of water and then attack it with the dyes... I love the effect it gives. You can make it as bright as you want or dab it with paper towel and it will mute the colour.

I  love getting messy!

This weekend we are off to the Gold Coast to spend the long weekend with Lisa and her family and Lisa and I are off to the PaperCrafts Expo. I can't wait to catch up with everyone. It's going to be an awesome weekend :))

some wicked layouts

I can't believe it has been 2 weeks since the Wicked Princesses retreat in Brisbane.  It is always a fantastic opportunity to scrap the weekend away with 'local' girls. I did manage to get 5 layouts done on the first day before I started my art journalling addiction LOL

I love this photo of Kirsten. She is getting blessed by a Buddhist monk at a temple in Cambodia. We are proud of the way that the both of the girls showed respect to the religion and traditions in whatever country that we travelled through.

This photo of Sarah and I was taken in Melbourne recently when I flew down for a retreat. I stole the title off a layout that she had done while we were there. I love this Amy Tangerine 'Sketchbook' Kit that I bought from Peta at Scrapbooking from Scratch. There is still a couple left in the shop if you want one ;-)

Thanks for dropping by and leaving your comments, they make my day :-)

something a bit different for me

One of my scrappy friends told me recently that she had started subscribing to Blue Bazaar's mixed media kit. I jumped online and had a look, and loved what I saw. When my kits arrived  I was a bit worried about how to use everything, and the best thing about the kits is that they come with online instructions on how to do 3 journal pages from each kit... I did the first two and then threw the instructions away. It wasn't really what I wanted to achieve with art journalling.

a bit boring hey?
So onto YouTube I went and watched quite a few Art Journalling tutorials and then I just let her rip LOL

I was definately happier with these ones :)

I have heaps more to show you that I did at the Wicked Princesses retreat a couple of weeks ago. And yes I did scrap there, but only the first day, I couldn't stop playing with paint and paper LOL

Thanks for dropping by

june already???

I can't believe it is June already!!!!! This year is just flying by, scary hey?

And being the start of the month Scrap the Girls has a new challenge ready for you! The challenge is 'Outside'. So you have to use photos taken outside.

I have used another one of our holiday photos. This one was taken at a cave at Halong Bay in Thailand. It was absolutely stunning. Something that I would love to go back and see again.

I have used Heidi Swapps 'No Limits' range that I bought from Scrapbooking from Scratch. Sadly Peta doesn't have any left in stock but she can order them for you if you want one :) This range is fantastic for holiday photos!

Looking forward to seeing all of your entries!

a great weekend anyway

We have just had a great weekend with a house full of visitors for the Triple J's one night stand, that Dalby was lucky enough to be chosen to host this years concert.  And of course it rained and concert ended up finishing early because it was too dangerous with electrical equipment and that much water:(  We haven't had any decent rain since the floods earlier last year, it was a damn shame that it had to be this weekend that it chose to dump 2 inches on rain ggrrr.

Here are some pics that I stole off the local papers website ;-)

360

Sadly Temper Trap didn't make it onto the stage :( Half way through 360's set the speakers blew up so that was the end. But I did have two excited teenage girls that got to see 360 perform even if it was only for a short time. They throughly enjoyed their first live concert and now they can't wait until we see Lady Gaga in 10 days time!

Thanks for dropping by, I will be back later today with this months Scrap the Girls Challenge
